We’re delighted to announce that Pikup Padel is now open at Follingsby Park, bringing an exciting new sporting destination to Gateshead and the wider North East.
The new flagship 33,400 sq ft centre at Unit 17B features 11 indoor padel courts, creating a fantastic new home for players of all ages and abilities — from experienced competitors to those picking up a racket for the very first time.
Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, combining an accessible, social format with fast-paced competitive play. Pikup Padel has been designed with that spirit firmly in mind, creating a welcoming environment where people can meet, play and become part of a growing padel community.
The opening also brings a new dimension to life at Follingsby Park. Alongside the estate’s thriving business community, Pikup Padel provides a shared leisure and social destination for colleagues, local residents and visitors from across the region.
With Follingsby Park located just off the A194(M) and within easy reach of the A1(M), A19 and Tyne Tunnel, the venue is ideally positioned for players travelling from Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle and beyond.
With all 11 courts now open under one roof, the new centre has the capacity to welcome a broad mix of players as well as supporting coaching, social sessions, corporate events and competitive play.
The opening of Pikup Padel marks another exciting milestone for Follingsby Park and further strengthens the estate’s position as a vibrant destination for business, employment and the wider community.
